I contacted a derm office and was quoted $450 for one session, which seems like quite a bit. Could you guys recommend a better one?

if you were in San Diego I would hook you up with a Vbeam Perfecta 2014 for half of what you're paying. Probably cheaper. I got forehead, cheeks, temples and nose for $110 with Dr. Rullan in Chula Vista.
