Hello everyone. I have these red acne scars from acne. They are red and pitted. I tried retin-a but it made them worse and pitted. I went to a derm and he suggested me derma roller and said that chemical peels won't do anything for my acne scars. I have been so much depressed because of these, i don't go out, don't even see anyone. I just go out at night so that no one can notice my acne scars. I don't get major acne now, just some whitehead here and there. What will be the best treatment for me? Please help me!
The good part is your acne has cleared.
I think multiple subcisions followed by filler may help to plump up the depressions. The downside is that the filler needs to be maintained, but the longevity of the filler may increase over time meaning you have to do it less frequently. For redness, Vbeam is the fastest and most effective way to get rid of it.

But fillers are temporary. Won't laser or derma roller help?
Yes fillers are temporary. That's why I think it is a good idea usually to do a few subcisions to elevate the scars as much as possible, then fine tune with fillers (if you choose to) at the end. The subcisions can be followed by suctioning to prevent them from re-tethering. If you are lucky, the subcisions may be enough, and you won't have to do any fillers. Check out Mr.Matt's posts about subcision. He got very good results. Lasers are good for evening out the surface, not so much for replacing lost volume.
