Hi,
My acne is pretty much under control now and I have these hyperpigmentation/red marks that seem to stay forever. I used all kind of stuff - exfoliating, lemon juice, zinc based oils, aloe vera etc.
The thing is, the marks on my face don't show any significant improvement, but the marks on my back faded in like weeks, even though I didn't even touch it.
This may be a coincidence, but would leaving your skin alone be the best and fastest cure?
I don't mean for me, but in general.

Were you using these 'treatments' on your face and not your back?
The thing that most people forget with scars and marks is they are (until the fully disappear) in the healing process, so this means the skin is going to be very delicate. So any scrubbing, exfoliating or harsh chemicals is just going to aggravate the skin even more and prolong the healing process. So yes the best thing you can do is just leave them alone. Avoid harsh chemicals. and exfoliating!!
