Hi everyone!

I finished my Accutane cycle about a month or two ago, and I am not that happy with the results :/

Unfortunately, I still have scars which I am super self conscious about (especially in the daylight or under bright lights). I researched acne scar treatments but everything that seems to work is too expensive! I actually was going to take a 7th month of Accutane, but my insurance company would not cover it.

Anyway, what do you all recommend I try and do now?

I would really really love some help! :)

(I'm kind of feeling like a lost cause atm)

Also, if it's of any importance, I'm 17

Your scars don't appear to be very deep so that's a good thing. Your really young so your healing ability is very high as well as your ability to produce new collagen. I've heard really good success stories about needling (dermaroller or dermastamp) so I would try that out, your scars seem the type that would respond really well. Although, I do warn you it is a super slow process but its cheap and easy. Anyways, goodluck with whatever route you choose.

The redness is certainly exaggerating the depth of the scars, and you may find that as that fades, they don't look as noticeable. With Accutane, you should wait a minimum of 6 months (some doctors say a year) before doing anything like laser resurfacing or peels. For the redness, a series of Vbeam treatments is the fastest way to help them fade.

I have exactly the same red scars right now. I went to a darmaetologists and he claims that he has performed more than 50 thousand laser treatments. He also told me that Derma Roller will be best for you, when i asked him about laser, he told me that it's expensive and you will the same results with derma roller too. He also told me that chemical peel will not be affective on these red scars/marks.
