hi this is my life so far. had bad acne when I was about 17 and battled it for couple of year's then had roaccutane (accutane in us) . it did clear my acne but was left with scars. after a couple of year's I had ablative co2 laser (not fractional ). was feeling great until my skin returned to normal with a few added scarring. I did however only had 1 cheek done has it would of been difficult to do the lot. I had this done in 2009. I was left with depression on the brink of a breakdown etc. I dont get pimples anymore but ive noticed I get tiny little pore scars each time. my skin scars far to easily. ive hit a dead end now. I will have not skin left for it to scar. I need yo know if scars can be improved without lasers etc

Really depends on what type of scars you have. Non-laser options include subcision, RF needles like Intracel, dermastamp, microdermabrasion, and dermabrasion. I would recommend subcision or dermastamp before trying any other treatments.

Do you mean that your skin returned to normal after swelling from the laser went down? Or do you mean that over time scars resurfaced becuase of the natural aging process? Since lasers and every other collagen induction therapy treatment are designed to tighten the skin (and therefore reduce the appearance of scars), unfortunately many of us have to do maintenance treatments as our skin continues to age and collagen is depleted.

Subcision and excision are probably the only two scar treatments that can provide permanent improvement rather than just a tightening effect.
