Hi everyone,
I first noticed a small dented scar about 1 month ago and since then more and more dented scars have started to become obvious on my cheeks.
Why does it appear they're getting worse and more obvious?
Does anyone know?
I am very very worried that they will continue to get worse because I am already extremely self-conscious about it and it could get to the point that I will never want to leave the house or be seen! I am not being dramatic, its a real possibility if they continue getting worse.
So does anyone know why they are becoming more obvious?
Strangely, the original dented scar seems to have disappeared!
If anyone has experienced this or could explain it I would be very grateful!!

It's possible that you just didn't notice them originally. After you found the one scar you probably started to look closer at your skin, and in different lights. It's like how most people wouldn't pay too much attention to scars. But people that have them notice even the smallest scars on people.

I actually did think this but then I looked back at some photos and I had a bad breakout stage in late Feb early March this year in the place where the scarring is.
So they're 2 months old at most I believe.
I do pay close attention to my skin and had never noticed any dented scarring before the 1st one I found a month ago.
Its quite annoying to think that a bad breakout that lasted a couple of weeks has scarred me, especially since I have been battling this acne for a year now.
But I hope that because they're still quite new that I might not have to resort to invasive treatments.
I am torn between just leaving them to do their hing and maybe disappear like that first scar did or go see a dermatologist and get some expert advice. But I really do what to avoid any invasive treatments at this stage. Maybe some topicals could help. We'll see
Scars needs to be treated regularly to promote collagen production. Look into fillers like fat grafting and needling.
I have identified that my scars are most likely only 2 months old at most (I had a bad breakout in these areas in late Feb early March).
I am hoping that I have caught them early enough and won't need any painful invasive treatments to fix them.
I am torn between seeing what happens to them over the next few weeks (the first scar I noticed has disappeared and I kind of hope the rest do too), or going to see a derm and get an expert opinion.
I am hoping that if I am gentle with my skin and use some topicals that people say can help, that I won't need to do much else.
I dunno though, I'll just see.
