Hello to one and all. I have been following acne.org for a long time. I saw a thread relating to Dermarollers/Dermastamp/Dermapen which spoke about peoples experiences with these methods for scar revision. It was a few years old so Im bringing the questions back again for an updated discussion of the outcome of this treatment.

WHAT:

1.) What size needles were/are you using?

2.) What kind of scars were/are you treating?

3.) What topicals, if any, did/do you use before & after each treatment?

4.) What vitamins/supplements, if any, did/do you take?

5.) What was/is your time interval between each treatment?

6.) What percentage (0-100%) would you put on your scar improvement?

HOW:

1.) How did/do you clean your device?

2.) How often did/do you clean your device?

3.) How long had/have you been doing treatment?

4.) How old were your scars when you first started?

*And last but not least, do you believe dermarolling/ dermastamping is worth it?

If you have any pictures to share, please feel free to do so.

WHAT:

1.) What size needles were/are you using? .5 mm at first, then i changed 1mm, im working around the mouth so i dont need a long needle

2.) What kind of scars were/are you treating? just 1 specific rolling scar

3.) What topicals, if any, did/do you use before & after each treatment? neosporin for the first 2 days, then vitamin c serum, and a cerave moisturizer

4.) What vitamins/supplements, if any, did/do you take? 1000mg vitamin C, MSM pills, flax oil

5.) What was/is your time interval between each treatment? one a month for the first 4 months, now im doing once every 3 months

6.) What percentage (0-100%) would you put on your scar improvement?hard to say, depth wise, i dont think it did alot, but texture did change . redness kinda went away, not to sure. i have had subcision along side my treatments which helped more for depth

HOW:

1.) How did/do you clean your device? soak it in 91% isopropyl for 20min, rinse it with water, dry, before procedure, and after

2.) How often did/do you clean your device? before and after every treatment

3.) How long had/have you been doing treatment?aug 2013- present

4.) How old were your scars when you first started? 2year old

And last but not least, do you believe dermarolling/ dermastamping is worth it? yes but u have to be realistic on what to expect. its not an overnight process. it can take a year before you see results. but it DOES help, you also need to use ncessary topicals and suppliments while doing this

Thanks skullkid87 - great insight. I think Im going to start with .5mm and work upwards too.

With topicals I think Im going to use copper-peptides at first, then argan oil and shea butter or dermol lotion.

I think Im going to use a dermastamp as I recently read that the dermaroller will cause tearing instead of straight collums, thoughts?

Again thanks for the input. The more I hear about this the more Im excited to begin.

I am doing a lot of research into this kind of stuff for my shallow scarring.

I'd love to hear from more people.
