So I've been dealing with acne for about a year and a half now. I was finally able to stop my breakouts about 3 months ago and I've been left with red marks, some of which have left physical scars. I can't seem to get these scars to fade, they seem to have stopped healing. On top of that, my acne seems to have starting coming back.
To get rid of this I'm thinking about buying a new cleanser, moisturizer, and exfoliator. I've heard good things about Clean&Clears foaming cleanser for sensitive skin, and Neutrogena's visibly even moisturizer. Anyone have any exfoliant suggestions?
I've also heard AHA/BHA helps a lot to get red of these marks. Which one is better, is there any brand suggestions, and how often should you use AHA/BHA?
Thanks in advance.

It great news that your breakouts have stopped however you need to be patient when it comes to acne scarring and red marks. You really don't want to risk over aggravating your skin and becoming prone to more breakouts. In short, keep it simple, if you have found a regime that has stopped your breakouts keep doing that regime. It is an often occurrence that people may react or breakout to different products so just keep this in mind. Long story short, AHA and BHA are a powerful exfoliants and can be used for red marks when used in a gradual process and a lot of people have had positive results. However, the best treatment for red marks is preventing acne in the future, just consider this before embarking on a new range of products that may potentially aggravate your skin. All the best.
Thanks, I actually stopped using any products after my last batch ran out (about 2 months ago) because my skin was getting really dry and the sides of my nose even started to peel. But due to my recent breakouts in the last 2 weeks I'm thinking about starting my routine again and using softer products this time.
I'm thinking about cleansing/moisturizing twice a day and using BP at night as a spot treatment. I'll also exfoliate twice a week using either BHA or AGA. How's that?
Sounds like a good plan.
The Regimen does not 'cure' acne so you need to keep up a routine in order to maintain clear skin. Probably explains why you started breaking out again.
My daughter used AHA (the one you can purchase with the Regimen) and had good results. You can use it every day if you combine it with your moisturizer.
I have heard that www.Paula'schoice has some good BHA products so maybe worth a look.
Good luck.
I have the same issues as you. Need to fade My red marks.
I think i will try paulas choice. But I don't know if I should use aha or bha for treating red marks.. Can someone help me? Is it ok to use aha/bha during the summer? It will be like 30+degree Celsius. Ofc I will use moisturizer with SPF.
