Accidentally Burnt My Face With Warm Compress. What To Do?

Hi everyone.

I did something stupid. I could feel a big blind pimple forming a few days ago so I thought I'd try a warm compress on it. I did this repeatedly over several hours but, stupidly, I now realize I had the water far, far too hot. Now I've given myself a bad burn on my face about an inch by inch big. I've attached a pic (it looks worse in person).

The very center looks like it's formed a blister but the surrounding part is just red. I can't tell yet whether it too will form a blister.

The past couple days I've just been lightly rubbing moisturizer into it every hour or so and alternating with some aloe vera gel.

My question is: what can be done to reduce the redness? Is it something I'm just going to have to wait out?

I've been cursing myself constantly, I can't believe I did something so dumb. It's now far more obvious than any blind pimple would have been

Thanks.

It looks like a standard pimple to me, not a blister.

I agree, it doesn't look burnt to me, it sort of looks like it came to a head. You could try taking some advil and vitamin C. Eating pineapple always seems to calm inflammation on my face too.
