Hello, I'm Kalahri and this is my story. I'm here to get help as I couldn't get it anywhere else.

I'm 23 years old and I suffered from bad acne for about 7 years. The fifth or sixth year was a good year, and I tought it was finally all over, but instead my acne came back as vulcaris, which left me marked for good. From that time it's been 3-4 years, but the scars and the pain remains. I suffered from deep clinical depression and I was near to commit suicide. Now I feel sane again, maybe because I've started to get used to my new life after acne. I don't know if it's right to talk about this here, maybe this is not this kind of place, but behind my avatar I can feel free to say, that it feels like I an feel my missing parts, the healthy tissue. Like I've lost my body. I don't feel like a woman anymore, not to mention a person, and I don't believe I will never cure from this emotionally.

I don't have anything to loose. I don't feel comfortable posting my scar pictures here, because I'm afraid someone would recognise me, although it's unlikely. I can describe them as rolling scars and maybe box scars, too. They are pretty deep, or in lighting they are really notably. Many of them are completely white. Many of them are really wide. My temples are worst, but also my other cheek is full of them. They arent as deep as in my temple, but they are somehow more notable. My forehead has scars too, but maybe 5 of them are big scars. Otherwise my full face and neck is full of shallow scars.

I live in a country that doesn't have fraxel repairs etc, and even if here was, I couldn't afford them. I've read about single needling and dermarolling. Unfortunately I'm not a native english speaker, so it's been difficult to find the right information. I believe this is a non-marketing forum so I thought I'd get some advices.

I rather start with single needling, so I can start with my forehead and temples to see how it affects my skin. I've used tattoo needles one time, but then I read theyre not thin enough.

I found these needles: http://shop.owndoc.com/product-info.php?singleneedles-pid172.html

Has anyone any idea are those good or have you better suggestions?

I read from here that it's good to have vitamin C supplement. Where do you order that from?

Thank you in beforehand and I hope my grammar isn't so bad. n__n''

Hello,

I read this forum about 2 years ago, and then there were active talking about needling and dermarolling. Is this forum less active now or has there been found better working methods?

I would be really grateful if someone would say if those are the correct kind of needles I need and if not, guide me to find the better ones.

And I have no idea what is the vitamin C supplement people are talking about... eusa_think.gif

Please answer me even though maybe someone might think that its only repeating what has been said many times before. English isn't my native language and it takes me ages to translate all needlingthreats to my language. And I know that when I was reading these forums 2 years ago, there were talking about different sizes of needles and tattoo needles were suggested too. I used a tattoo needle once, but then I read that even the thinnest tattoo needles arent thin enough. I believe mine is something like 0.33mm, but not sure.

PS: Why do I have white scars? There aren't pigmentation at all in the biggest ones and theire wery notable in summer when I get a little tanned... Can I get rid of that with needling?

Hey,

Most people who congregate here definitely can relate to your pain and we all have our scars, both physically and mentally, to prove it. Those other people who come here for the sole purpose of clearing up their zits will never know what it's like to exist as an underground man or woman.

With regards to needling, I suggest you start with either a derma roller or a derma stamp. They're quite cheap (less than $10 on eBay). I personally started with the roller and I found that this helped my skin to adjust to the trauma better than had I begun with the single needle. With the single needle, it's hard to know how deep you're supposed to poke whereas with the roller you can go down all the way without much worry. Once you become confident, then move on to the single needle.

On thatnor, the size of the needle is not as important as how you use the needle. Nevertheless, I think for those with deep scars should use a thicker needle since you want to exact maximum trauma in order to boost collagen production. Thinner needle will only require you to poke more. Why poke 2 or more when you can get away with only 1?

Anyway, try different needles and see how your skin reacts. There are many types of needles on the market to choose from: diabetic lancets, tattoo needle, acupuncture needle and, finally, sewing needles. Again, I want to empasize that how you use the needle is more important than what type or the size of the needle you use. Keep in mind that you want to go as deep as possible in order gto break upthe scar tissues, but not so deep that you end up damaging the fatty layer that is located below the dermis. Also it's ideal to enter the skin at an angle rather than at 90. These are only some of the basics. Be sure to read about single needling well before makingthe plunge.

Regarding the vitamin C you asked about, it's called Hyaluronic a

Acid. Again, check out eBay for bargains. But you might want to use Copper Peptide instead. It's pricier than HA but it's supposed to give you harder, better, faster, stronger outcome.

I would buy a dermastamp not a derma roller. if you google the 2 you will see how the dermastamp goes straight in and out while the derma roller leaves the skin on an angle ( sorry i can't explain too well just google image it ) I did start derma rolling a year ago though when i didn't know about dermastamping and my scars have improved about 70% with the use of regular high strength glycolic peels. Although my skin would look horrible for days after derma rolling (red and scabbed) The needle length is slightly important the longer the needle the deeper you will penetrate the scar which really can affect the improvement. My scars are my normal skin colour as well i think its just simply the layer under the skin has scarred and sunken.

Hi there, and thank you for answering :) I appreciate it alot.

Well yea, I have been a bit sceptical about dermaroller since I first heard about it, because it needles so large areas and it's difficult to control.

1. My temple is full of scars near by near, and sorry about this graphic description, but my temple area looks like porridge. Not only is it full of scars, but theyre at least partly white. 2. Then my other cheek is full of scars too, but theyre not as white, or at least not all of them and theyre not as deep. Then my other cheek and temple has scars too, but somehow they didn't suffer from acne as much as the other. I think I had some kind of bacteria that got the acne stay and as bad (vulgaris) at my other side of my face. 3. My forehead and nose (the part near forehead) has some bigger scars, but not as much and theyre not white. And theyre apart from each other. Like here and there. 4. I have one huge scar on my cheek that is about 5cm long and 1-2cm wide. It's partly white, partly deep. It looks like a pathway and when I started reading about scar treatments, I actually thought about leaving it untouched as a symbol for my life with suffering from acne, but hell, who am I kidding - I want it off my face!!

So, should I rather get both single needles and dermastamp? Single needle for forehead and the part of face with less scarring? And dermastamp for my porridge-looking forehead, badly scarred cheek and the large scar?

But is it the same with derma stamp as dermaroller, that it's rather difficult to control? I don't want to harm the healthy tissue.

Can you give me links where to buy those dermastamps and the needles. How long and thick should they be? I looked at amazon.co.uk and there were only 0.15 dermastamps. Other place I looked was iherb. What about the link I gave in my first post, is it trustable?

What angle should I press the needle? A tattoo artist told me about in a 50 angle. Or should it be pushed straight? But is the dea to lift the skin a little at the same time or only penetrate it?

Also I searched for copper peptide and the Hyaluronic a Acid form uk amazon and iherb. There were creams and capsules. Which one do you people use?

Thank you again~! I even feel a little lighter in my mind. hifive.gif

Yes, you should get both. For single needles, get a box of 30 gauge diabetic syringe.

Single needle for forehead and the part of face with less scarring? And dermastamp for my porridge-looking forehead, badly scarred cheek and the large scar?

Use the single needle for those very deep scars. For the ones that are really stubborn, you will need to dig below the scar and break them up (aka subcision). This will start a new collagen production.

But is it the same with derma stamp as dermaroller, that it's rather difficult to control? I don't want to harm the healthy tissue.

Derma stamp is like using many single needles at once. However, there is one important distinction. With derma stamp, it can only be poked into the skin vertically. Single needle, on the other hand, allows more flexibility. It can enter the skin vertically, horizontally, or at any angle you choose.

Can you give me links where to buy those dermastamps and the needles.

If you can afford it, I suggest you get a derma pen:

http://www.ebay.com/bhp/derma-pen

How long and thick should they be? I looked at amazon.co.uk and there were only 0.15 dermastamps. Other place I looked was iherb. What about the link I gave in my first post, is it trustable?

Derma pen can be adjusted from 0.25 to 2.0mm in length. I can't comment about the website you mentioned since I've never bought anything from them. I would stick to either eBay or Amazon for all intents and purposes.

What angle should I press the needle? A tattoo artist told me about in a 50 angle. Or should it be pushed straight? But is the dea to lift the skin a little at the same time or only penetrate it?

See above. However, if you would like specific recommendations catered to your scars, consider uploading some pictures.

One side note. When it comes to overall techniques, you'll need to play around with it. Don't be timid. Experiment. Try different things and see which works best for you. I began using the derma roller only a month ago but I'm already doing some crazy, unconventional stuff. And it's already paying off. My scars have improved at least 30%.

But start out slow. Don't expect instant gratification. You won't get it.

Also I searched for copper peptide and the Hyaluronic a Acid form uk amazon and iherb. There were creams and capsules. Which one do you people use?

Copper peptide comes in a liquid form. Hyaluronic acid comes as a serum.

On a closing note, if you really want to get rid of your scars that badly, you need to be brave. I chuckle everytime I read "Please help me clear up my scars, which I really, really hate. But I'm afraid of needles!"
