Please im having terrible scabs from the use of glycolic acid peel. I'm scared to death cause it's the second day of me using petroleum jelly without improvements, what do I do..it's on about 45% of my face. Im dark skinned and d scabs are brown and they look like I got in some kinda accident..help please im freaking out and confined to my room...please check the attached picture for a glimpse
Keep using the petrolatum jelly and just wait for the scabs to fall off on their own. You can't really do anything to expedite this process, you just have to bear with it and let the scabs do their own healing - messing with them might cause permanent scarring. Be very gentle with your skin and avoid touching the scabs. Try to sleep on your back if possible, and don't let water hit your face directly in the shower.
The scabs should fall off in around 3-14 days, depending on how deep the damage is, most likely within 5 days. You'll be fine, don't worry!
Im gonna tell you the truth. Idk why everyone, is tiptoeing, around this. Ready..... I am a # CRAYCHEMPEELER. Your chemical peel, is doing exactly, what is supposed, to do. And its a lunchtime peel. You dont have to sleep on your back, thts cray advice. Omg. Lol. What thee heck. Lol. Not THT SERIOUS, frfr. You DOhave,to think abt, post-op care now. And Im sure you know, NOT to pick the scabs. You have too much petroleum jelly, on your face. WASH IT, with Cetaphil, dont use TOO MUCH moisturizer, defeats the purpose, of the peel. Makes sense right?! You WANT to PEEL. Lol. Wash twice, a day, pat dry, with paper towels, then moisturize, but dont overdo it. It looks worse than it is. CHILL. lol. Ik its hard. My WHOLE face was a scab, with the Tca peel, and I was skitzin! lol.JustRead this.Ive done them all. From frying my face with tca, to 70% glycolic acid (undiluted). So these are, well, my personal truths. I just did a 30% aha peel..... 3 days ago, and I left it on for 10 mins, as the directions said, and I have scabs, on my lower cheeks. Day 2wash your face, with a noncomedogenic face wash; Cetaphil;Luke warm water, twice a day. Drink lots of H2O preferably, spring, or mineral water. Invest in a spray bottle, put MINERAL WATER IN IT, and spray between washes, will help scabs come off, gently, and it feels great. Also, for future peels. My scabs are almost gone. Pink skin underneath, (aquaphor) on the fresh skin (untilhealed), plus broad spectrum sunscreen, at least 50 spf, with zinc. If you can avoid the sun, completely, for a few, do it, cuz that sunscreen, will irritate, your fresh skin.....sometimes ( its a personal thing, and you know how your skin feels PERIOD!)It will take 2-7 days, and you will be fine. I over-scrubbed, my skin, before, I did the peel, as always lol (hence scabs), but just hang in there, the results, will be acquired. I peel twice a week, then I have TONS, of serums, with acids (10%-14%), Kojic acidexfoliating soap (1-2xs a day)then tons of moisturizers.Needless, to say, my skin is very dry, most of the time. Also causes, burns. But idc. My goal to have flawless skin, will be achieved. Its basically, like a chem class, on your face, lol. Its addictive. But effective. Being a type VI, on the Fitzpatrick scale, you may have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Get some hydroquinone, a lactic acid peel, 40% undiluted. After a week, or a week and a half, well whenever you feel comfortable, again, PEEL! Then tone( the ordinary 7% glycolic toner 7.80$)then, niacinamide, zinc (the ordinary6.50$tops), day 2 wash(apply, light to heavy, facial creams) hydroquinone last, until you achieve your desired results. Dont look at the highestpercentages. Just do, lower percentages, frequently. Hyaluronic acid, also for moisture. If your like me, youll need it. I also use AEA certified, emu oil. Great stuff. Penetrates, deeper into your skin, idk why, it just WORKS. GET SOME. Lol. For now, you could use a little virgin coconut, or olive oil. AEA Emu oil, is also,a great healer, for #potential scarring. YOU ARE FINE. Looks normal. And dont let that scare, you away. Lactic acid is great, for type VI skin types. Its so gentle, AND.... oo oo oo, lightens hyperpigmentation, IF you have any. 40% can be done, biweekly. I use Kojic acid also, lol, DIRECTLY, before my peels, and,if I notice any hyperpigmentation. Also, a NO NO, but Im gonna do me. Lol.Lmk.And I hope this helpsyour nerves.Ik theyre SHOT. Lol. Your gonna be ok. Byeeeeee... for now.
