Punch Graft Excision

Hi

I saw a cosmetic dermatologist today (he has a very good reputation in this area) and we discussed doing punch graft excision and punch graft elevation in two scarred spots first just to see how my skin responds to it. They said there would be a stitch from both those two spots and I would need to wear a bandaid over the spots for about a week. I am really excited to try this for my acne scarring, but I am very self-conscious anyway about having the scarring, and I don't know how I would explain to my co-workers why I have band-aids on my face! I really wouldn't want to share the whole thing with them. Any idea's of what a good excuse for the stitches and bandaids? I would appreciate anyone's help. I am so self-conscious about the scarring and acne that I don't even like people gettimg too close to my face and I always look away or down when someone gets up close to me.

Thanks!

At the risk of sounding like an old grandma, how about the truth? Honesty is the best policy! Your co-workers probably know you have scarring so I think they'd be supportive of you trying to fix it. Tell them you're doing some scar treatments and leave it at that. No need to go into details and no need to come up with some elaborate fake story about why you're wearing band aids. Being real with people can be quite liberating. Good luck!

Thanks FreshStart2014. I had actually thought about being honest as well, but thought if there was some fake story I could make up, then that would be great. I also thought about taking a week off of work, but I hate to waste my vacation time on that. I will let the honesty thing sink and try to go with it. I haven't made the appointment just so not sure when I will have to deal with it, but I'm sure it could be liberating. Still feeling a little scared and hesitant, but just trying to imagine what it would feel like.

Thanks for your reply.
