What percentage of TCA did you use last time?

Do not do it ever again then. Many people simply don't respond to cross and it worsens their scars.

I have only heard of people using subcision for rolling scars. I think ice picks are typically treated with punch techniques or excision.

If you were to try the TCA CROSS again I think I'd try a lower strength. Possibly 50%. I'd also be extra careful about making sure the TCA does not touch any healthy tissue at all. I'd also experiment a bit with applying the TCA (maybe with an even lower strength like 30%). For example, twirl the toothpick around in the scar or just gently tap the TCA onto the scar. If none of those things work then I'd probably move onto a different scar treatment.

I've found that I can perform a TCA Cross at 100% solution with virtually any degree of intensity and still get incredible results. Perhaps my skin is just extremely resilient, but to me the chemical just isn't nearly as volatile as it may seem. Sorry to hear about your results though, I know that can be disappointing

Did you do the TCA yourself? Maybe you should think about seeing a derm or PS instead.

You could have subcision done. It's good for rolling scars but will also work for boxcar scars. Icepick, not so much.

This is all I've read about lasers being helpful for icepick scars.

Thanks. I agree about it being unpredictable. I have not yet started to treat my ice pick scars, but when I do I'll have to keep the fraxel restore in mind.

I feel for you...I have a huge box scar on my nose and several ice picks.... :'(

How about fractional with CO2 Laser (it has minimal downtime too)

Or dermabrasion (skin is sanded down manually or mechanically)

They do improve over time

I've been doing a lot of research lately and I have yet to come across any compelling evidence in favor of non-ablative lasers (I.e Fraxel Restore) for ice pick scarring. Think you might need some punch excisions, then resurfacing to smooth out the texture.

Not sure where your 'free' consultation is but be smart. The industry preys on people. I've been to many consultations and have been fed all kinds of BS.

Fraxel repair is a fractional co2 laser. Maybe that's what she meant?
