Advice Needed For Next Step

I had acne that got bad around 18 and then I managed to get rid of the cystic stuff around 22/23. (I never used Accutane). At that time I started getting micro done, lights, oxygen, and strong chemical peels. That all helped with the acne, but the scars were left behind. I did a run of 4 fraxel treatments at 24 and then another 4 treatments last winter(27). I have been told there is improvement from my friends and parents, and I think I see improvement myself (especially on my right cheek), but I'm still at a point where I feel I can't live my life yet... I definitely have an awful self image and am horrified of dating because of it. But I'm sure we all feel the same when it comes to stuff like this...

I read about the Everjet, on here and their site, it seems like it might help me. At this point in my life, I don't care if I need to get fillers every 6 months for the rest of my life, I just need my skin to look better. So the Everjet's system of a filler for the short term, and the untethering process for the long term seems like a great option for me. I'm in NYC, are there any doctors here who do the everjet treatment?

I included 4 pics. I tried to take them in different lighting, I'm not sure why one came out so red, my skin is definitely not as red as either of them make it appear, but yeah. I was told the pictures look worse than my skin in real life, but cameras tend to see what the human eye does not. Or maybe my friends are not seeing the reality. Either way, the shapes of the scars are the same. Can anyone let me know what types of scars I have on my right and left cheeks and advise whether Everjet might help me?

I think I have fat loss on the left side or maybe it is just larger scars tethering themselves down? I have high cheek bones and a thin face so when I lost my baby fat my cheeks had a flat look and I feel like the scars just emphasize that. :/

I always focused on permenant fixes but any temporary recommendations would be appreciated as well.

Also, I have not tried a dermaroller yet. Do you think that might help? Can it help fat loss? I'm a little wary of infection from needles, so does anyone have a recommendation of where I could get a roller that would be guarenteed sterilized and not break on me? Thanks!

Anyone? sad.png

If I were to do the dermaroller, what depth would be recommended?

I'm going to go to a couple of plastic surgeons in NYC and bring them the Everjet information... maybe they will consider buying a machine. Is it FDA approved for U.S. use?

Are there any possible bad side effects from the Everjet? Has anyone ever experienced tissue loss from it?

I will cut to the chase - Fraxel Re:pair at high intensity 60-70 mj.

How many do you think I would need?

Also, what types of scars are these? I never got a straight answer from my derm.

The reason I am leaning toward filler related things is because in the morning (added pictures leaning toward the light), my scars are much better, to the point where you can barely see them, so I assumed if I could use a filler to give me that "morning effect," it would do the same thing. Or is this not valid?

I'm really very new to a lot of the options. Even though I've been battling this for years, the only advice I've gotten is from doctors and aestheticians... I've never spoken about it with anyone who had acne themselves because somehow all my colleagues and friends have perfect skin... mad.gif

I would say 3-5 Re:pairs at 60-70 mj. I really can't comment on fillers since I have never had any.

yeah get subcision done first, then many fraxel repairs done, then do enerjet, then get fillers...in that order. You seem to have rolling scars so subcision should be the first step.

Thanks! Is it safe to get Fraxel re:pairs after having 8 fraxel restores (on highest setting)?

I was told 8 Fraxel restores are the limit. Has anyone else been told this limit before? The doctor who gave them to me actually would not administer more than 8.

From what I've read Fraxel re:pair ablates the top surface of the skin? So technically it is different from the ones I've had and maybe wouldn't interfer with that limit?

RE subcision - what are the benefits of subcision over this new enerjet system?

Re:pair is totally different from Re:store. Re:pair ablates at about 1.4 mm at peak setting.

The last 4 I got, were the re:store DUAL 1550/1927. The first set of 4 I got had been when the machines were first becoming popular so I think they were a little different. I wonder if I didn't heal as well as I could for these last 4 because I was caught in the hurricane floods and super stressed out during and after the treatments.

I think I will look into the re:pair (if it is working from the outside in, and isn't hitting the same tissue as the re:store did) maybe my doctor will agree to do them. EDIT: I looked on their website but I don't know if I really understand the difference between the two. The re:store damages the skin under the surface to a certain depth, and the re:pair damages above the skin and under? Wouldn't the depth be the same though? I remember seeing a setting of 70MJ on the re:store I did. So how does the 70 on the re:pair differ?

Still looking into the Everjet though, taking a trip to Toronto every time is going to get expensive. eusa_think.gif But the concept really impresses me. I would be disappointed to get the traditional subcision and then have the scars just reattach because nothing is blocking them from doing so.

Re:pair is ablative and Re:store is not. I was advised long ago by a plastic surgeon that Re:store would do me no good.
