Do scars from pustules go away? I can't tell if they're indented or not, and my acne just went away so I'm not sure. I'm 17 and I thought that only cysts/nodules scarred permanently I never picked at my acne or anything. If they are slightly indented (like literally one layer of skin deep), will they heal on their own?
You can scar from any kind of acne. Most of my acne scars are from pustules, only maybe one or two from cysts. But I think it usually takes a cyst to form a rolling scar. If you can't tell if your scarring is indented or not, it's probably not scarring at all or so mild that it will be undetectable by the time hyperpigmentation has faded. So don't worry. They do also look much better and less deep and softer once the redness is gone.
