When I typically get cortisone injection for cysts, the result has been great. However, I had a few injections this week and I don't know why I'm having this reaction!
I could see and feel two cysts forming under my skin. They were certainly not fully inflamed yet, but the doc gave me the injections anyway. They didn't "disappear" like usual. Instead, they got bigger, redder and hurt, and eventually formed a whitehead. Is that because all the bacteria has to go somewhere? The cortisone doesn't kill bacteria, it just helps inflammation, right?
Well, after they burst, I'm left with these large red and almost scaly marks. They skin is more of a dark-reddish color. I feel like it's not going to fade anytime soon! I'm so so so upset. Usually, the cyst just disappears and leaves a very tiny red mark. This is much larger. What is going on? Has this happened to anyone else? The patch of skin feels rough, almost dry. Do I put moisturizer on it?
