Hi folks,

Yesterday I had a dermabrasion performed on a few marked-off pox marks.

The doctor assured me that due to initial swelling the scars may look unchanged or even worse.

Currently this is the case and I am a bit anxious as to the possibility of having the procedure done for nothing!

Thats because I thought that Dermabrasion abrades the skin and one therefore has to see the results (the abrasion) immediately after the process?

Am I wrong???

Im a naturally sceptical and pessimistic person, thats why I ask:

Has anyone of you had Dermabrasion?

Can you tell me when the first results became visible?

Is it true that the scars can look unaltered first??

In the end I have to be patient but still some positive answers would relieve me!!

Regards

yes, collagen remodeling takes time. you may see improvement several months later.

Some of my scars appeared even deeper during the first few days. You should probably expect 25-50% improvement after 3 months.

@ Sisyphus:

What kind of scarring did you have/do you have? (Shape etc.) Rolling scars?

How deep were your scars or were they just shallow ones?

Thanks for your advice!

Come on people!

Pls reply!!

Im totally upset!

Every description I read about Dermabrasion convinces me even further that something isnt going on correctly.

Theres no raw wound and the scars are still visible.

But my skin is red and a bit swollen.

So does that mean that the procedure hasn't been done correctly or not deep enough???

Because I cant imagine that anything dramatic will happen!

How will everything evolve???

Please answer!
