So I think it's two the best lasers available right?

Well I have many many keloid or hypertrophic scars on chest, shoulders and back.

In my case which laser would do the trick? Fractionated or Ol School CO2.

Interesting question since most of our posts are dealing with indented scars. I won't pretend to offer advice on raised scars.

DudleyDoRight, I agree with you on scar types. However my derm offers me fractionated co2 but I still think that original Co2 would give me better results, you have had old school Co2 treatment on full face right? if you still remeber how was it? and were you happy with the results? Oh and any side-effects??

Again my experience is with indented scars, and I have no idea how raised scars react to lasers. From what little I know of raised scars part of the problem is collagen production gone crazy, and lasers are meant to increase collagen. I was not very impressed with regular CO2, for deeper scars. From a laymans point of view it would seem that CO2 would basically plane off the excess skin, but I am sure it is not that simple otherwise it would be a primary treatment, and I do not see that in the RealSelf thread.
