Honey, if you do have scarring then it is very mild. The flash on your camera may be concealing your scars so maybe if you try taking a photo in natural light and without the flash? Overexposure actually makes the skin look better. tongue.png

Also, it helps us if you can describe your scars. Are you dealing with rolling, boxcar or ice-pick? Or, is your main issue more to do with texture, i.e. enlarged pores or dull looking skin/discolouration?

If your scars are as mild in real life as they appear in that photo then my advice would be to start a good skin care regime first. Get your skin as clear as you can and as healthy as you can before you look into any kind of invasive procedure. You could look at light chemical peels or laser treatment if you're not happy with your skin.

xx

Try Vitamin E.

Mederma is a god-send topical solution for scars. But Vitamin E is another route. I've been loading up on supplements lately but Vitamin E has dramatically reduced the scarring.

I get my brand from Esmond Natural.

And here's a kinda gross before and after photo. It's not perfect, but I've only started doing this three months ago:

thank you for your reply smile.png I think that i have some small ice pick scars and some shallow boxcar scarring on my chin...here is another photo without flash:) currently i am on minocyclin tabs...Avene Clean ac and differin gel...

Your skin tone looks lovely, which is good and your active acne is almost completely under control. So if you're finding that your skin care regime works then stick with it.

Your scarring is very mild and I had to squint to really see anything in that photo. However, if it bothers you doing something about it is great! Maybe you could look into very superficial chemical peels or microdermabrasion. I personally have not seen any changes to my scarring with microderms but my scarring is way worse than yours. Some have reported that their shallow scars have improved with microderm sessions so it might be worth a shot. At the very least you'll end up with a nice fresh face, :P. Microderms go for around $100-$150 and there's no downtime. It's basically an aggressive exfoliation.

Chemical peels would involve some downtime though. Perhaps a bit of research on the peels available would be a good place to start?

Try Vitamin E.

This is the brand I use:

Clarice, I don't see scars on your face. I see acne marks :). These normally go away on their own, slowly, but the use of Vitamin E would help, as you've noticed. Glad it's working for you however for those with actual scarring (indents/pock marks - icepick, boxcar, rolling) there is unfortunately no topical that will resolve the issue.

here is what doctor on realself has to say about my scarrs, im thinking about doing it....From what I can tell in the picture, it appears you still have a good amount of active acne as well as discoloration from the acne. I do see a few scars as well, but it is the acne and discoloration that appears to be the primary issue. If you are not already being treated by a dermatologist for your acne, I recommend you consult with one. There are oral and topical prescription and over-the-counter treatments which can improve your acne and prevent further discoloration and scarring. I find it best to address the scarring once the acne is better controlled. While difficult to see, it seems you may have a few depressed acne scars which would benefit from injectable filers.

unhappy29 - you have barely any scarring, not nearly enough to risk surgery and/or liquid silicone injections (please do your research for even considering this).

Take care of your active acne, wait for some of the redness to go away and possibly try retin-a and I guarantee you, you won't be worried about any "scarring."

Don't do anything harsh. Use retin - a with a collagen boosting serum.
