hey guys - its just from one subcision thus far- doing another one on october 23rd then after 3 more months we might do a CO2 laser but I coach lacrosse so I dont know if ill be able to do that AND come march, my hubby and I want to start to have a family (im scared out of my mind of what might happen when im pregnant and my cystic acne coming back - argh) and when u are pregnant you can not do any of the treatments because of the medicine they put you on to prevent infections... so most likely it will be one more subcision and then ill revisit post first kid...

BUT i could wait til after thanksgiving and do CO2 laser because I do have a month of down time from then until xmas... anyone have any thoughts about what I could do here... a part of me is really interested to see what another subcision would do but then im sure the CO2 would be beneficial as well... this whole process is so tough. and it makes me so depressed... sigh

I honestly love you all for helping me through this experience - thank you thank you

What are peoples thoughts about me waiting til after thanksgiving, forgetting another subcision and going right into CO2 laser? Do you think i would benefit more with another subcision or to move into the laser world??

I most certainly think you could benefit quite a bit from another subcision. I know it sucks to wait for them to heal, but my opinion is that one should have two at least before moving on to another type of scarring procedure.

Hope that helps.

I'm not as knowledgeable as some here, but I would think subcision first would make sense. The more "untethered" and level your skin is the more effective the laser would be, I think. Keep us posted!

alright friends - sorry its been two days but here are the photo 45 minutes post procedure!

Right now two days later, it hurts only when i wash my face because its still swollen underneath and bruising but it honestly just looks like i have a bad break out with lots of little bumps and red marks...got a few white heads which popped up pretty soon after the procedure probably due to the fact that you cant wash for 24 hours afterward but luckily nothing im too worried about. The doc accidently slipped and cut my cheek when trying to losen a pretty intense scar so i have a nice little scratch but im hoping it doesnt scar... we will see!

Enjoy the photos haha

Ofcourse - sometimes i think, what if people recognize me but then I realize well if they do, they know i have acne scars already, its nothing that isnt out there for everyone to see! Regardless, if it can help one person and if someone can help me - im happy to do it.

I think it was one above 18 ... i remember last time she moved from i think it was a 24 to an 18 (i have no idea what exactly that means) but this time the holes are bigger so im thinking it was the 24.. does that make sense?

Yes it really does help alot. I admire your ambition to take action. I was going to book a subcision appointment after im done with finals. I am very nervous. But from the looks of your photos it appears that its not really a big deal. I was worrying of the needles scarring my face. Have the needles ever left an indentation? And how many needle marks would you say you recieve per session?

the doctor told me that my skin healed beautifully from the last subcision and that no scars from the incisions were left - i honestly couldnt tell for a few reasons.... one, i dont know exactly where she put the numbing solution vs the subcision incisions and second, i do my absolute best to not look at my skin for that long and that close up - Until i feel like something is making a difference and I KNOW in my heart that I can look closely without crying, i do not allow myself to do it... so I hope shes telling me the truth, that i do not have any scars from the incisions and we just move forward. She actually wanted me to look into a mirror in the office last time and i said no ha - Im hoping here in a few weeks ill be able to look closely but right now, its not worth how upset I get...

by looking at the photos and trying to remember her approach, i think about 10 to 12 incisions per side of my face :)

happy almost weekend and everyone getting hit by the hurricane this weekend - BE CAREFUL and SAFE!

my face is a little more red than normal because I just did a serious workout and took a nice hot shower haha

Alright friends - last subcision happened at the end of October - here are the photos below of what it looks like 2 months post op.

Now I have a Deep FX laser scheduled for Jan 2 and she is also going to work on the texture of my skin with the CO2 laser....

IM SCARED OUT OF MY MIND.

I need advice from people who have done this procedure.... is it worth it? Is it going to help? will I like the results, and most importantly, how long is the down time??????? will my face be red for months afterward? And even more importantly as I feel like everything scars my skin, will the laser create more scarring???

Please help - i hope its the right next step.

I don't have experience, but I'm in a similar situation as you in that I'm also considering getting Deep FX or Total FX for my scarring. Just wanted to say good luck! :) Please keep us posted.
