help with scar treatments for dark scars

I have several dark scars remaining from cysts on my chest/lower body. Right now for the past few weeks I've been using Bio-oil. While it makes my skin feel better and look better overall... it's not really helping the scars. I have used cocoa butter in the past, but it broke me out more and didn't help much since I didn't want to use it while broken out.

I'm thinking of using fresh aloe vera. I have a scar on my face from a cyst that I got rid of rather quick and threw some aloe on it and it seemed to help a lot. Would that help for older and larger dark scars?

Most Dermatoligists will recommend Retin-A (or a comparable version) to exfoliate and/or Hydroquinone to fade facial blemish/darkening away as this can be applied to the body as well. I have done so with much success.

Bio-oil consist of mineral oil thus hampering its other active ingredients.

Aloe Vera is really great to fade new hyperpigmentation scars. I faded new scars in a week. but for old ones that are dark brown, those scars are in the dermis, so they are deeper and harder to fade.
