Hi,

I`ve been dealing with some scars lately and yesterday I disovered that a SA product I was using lately contained Micronized Hydrocortisone (0,5 mg) and read that hydrocortisone can produce skin thinning.

So...I used like 3 times a week for 4 months aprox...

1) can it be this product resposnible for my scars?

2) is skin thining reversible?

thanks

It is reversible, stop using it and your skin will eventually recover. It will take a month or more, I am not sure of the timeline. The scarring may improve with the use of a retinoid topical. Retinoids thin the skin but also plump up the lower layers, thus minimizing scarring. Retinoids also improve collagen synthesis and that helps with minimizing scarring, especially during the scar formation stage that can last up to a year. Older scars can be improved with retinoids as well. They're pretty neat. :)
