Have you tried olive oil? It's all natural and works really well. I have super sensitive skin too and I've been using Ambi even & clear daily moisturizer with spf 30 for 2 months and it hasn't broke me out surprisingly. Infact I've actually seen an improvement... My face is softer and more even toned. Also I've heard cerave and Cetaphil are the top moisturizers recommended by dermatologists for people with extremely sensative skin. I honestly don't know why I haven't tried them yet... Haha. I might have to pick up some tomorrow.
You could try MCT oil, which is very light and pleasant. It's sold at Hi Health and Whole Foods. It has a carbon chain length of only C8 and C10, so it's very short and absorbs well. But any oil used at 100% is going to be shiny and oily -- that's why we buy lotions that are about 70% water, the first ingredient on the label.
You could experiment with pH by adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) -- adding about 0.5% will raise the pH about 1 number, but that's a very rough estimate. You could lower the pH with lemon juice, and about 2.0% to 5% will lower the pH by about 0.5 or 1 number. These are water soluble so they could be added to most cosmetics you already own. You could web order 100 pH strips for about $20 and test the pH of products you like and products that don't work, you could get some information that might help you figure out what you like best.
Use a test patch on the crook of your arm before you put any modified product on your face, and you'll get an indication of whether it will be helpful or not.
Clean and clear dual action moisturizer (salicylic acid and acne medication),oil free. This is what I use after the treatment gel from the regimen. This is the only moisturizer my skin has been able to tolerate ,I have tried many and sunscreen makes my skin breakout and itch.
oh wow..
after I listed EVERY moisturizer I have ever tried, there was one thing that stood out:
They were all LOTIONS.
Can someone be more stupid than me? I had never EVER tried a gel...
So I went to my fathers bathroom and found a Loreal Men Expert Anti-Shine Moisturizing Gel and it works FANTASTIC. I get a liiiittle dry here and there but its like a 300% improvement of my skin already..
Cheers
Stupid
If you're going to try any oil, it should be sunflower oil, as it has the least chance of breaking you out. Lumiplexion sells a lightweight moisturizer that consists mostly of aloe vera. It's a gel and it gives light hydration.
Everyone needs a moisturizer. Your skin will create more oil if you don't seal it with some form of moisture.
