Hey y'all! I'm wanting to switch my routine to a mostly organic skincare line (minus dan's BP). What are your recommendations for a line that is affordable, and easily accessible? I don't want to have to order on line, but I will if it's necessary. I've been looking into Alba Botanica, but it's kinda hard to find the full line in stores. I've also been looking at Burt's Bees.

Now that my skin is clear, I need something to treat the dark spots and give me some more radiance.

Any suggestions will be great, thanks!

Hello(:

I have also been interested in organic skin care lines that are affordable. I wanted to use procudts that were as gentle and natural as possible, because harsh ceansers weren't working. I have mild persistant acne and I am currently taking Accutane.

I have used Alba Botanica Pinnapple Enzyme wash. I loved the scent and I believe it semi-worked to help with my breakouts, but it was more like a treatment once the breakouts already happened--it didnt stop the breakouts from happening. It also made my skin way too dry. On the positive side, it did give my face a nice litte glow, but I have found other ways to achieve this now. My experience with this cleanser stopped me from trying any of their other products, although I know a few poeple that enjoy them!

I have also tried a bunch of porducts from Burts Bees! Mainly the Soap Bark and Chamomile Cleansing Cream and the Sensitive Skin Moisterizer. The cleansing cream smelt nice (like orange tic-tacs), removed my makeup, and moisterized my dry skin, but it did not help prevent breakouts. The moisterizer was nice and light, but it did not moisterize my skin enough (it was still dry and flaky--no matter how many layers of lotion I used) and I think it might have agrivated my skin.

Another organic product I have used is the Avalon Organic VItamin C Renewal Cleansing Milk. This product smelt wonderful, and its creamy consistency moisterized my skn and deffinitly made it glow! I wouldnt use it just for helping breakouts, but just if your skin needs a little pick me up and is looking dull, I would use it a few times a week--but not as a normal cleanser.

My current routine is as natural as possible and is workng great so far!

I use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, then I use Dickinsons Pore Perfecting Toner (the yellow bottle) which I apply with a 100%, organic cotton, cotton pad. Then if i have a few dry spots Ill use Cetaphils moisterizing creme. These products gently cleanse my face and keep it clean, moisterized, and fight my small breakouts!

I hope I helped!

I can't personally recommend any particular organic line but you may want to check out the website beautypedia.com for whole line reviews of any organic products you are considering. This will give you a good idea of problematic ingredients you may want to avoid, and you can cross-check with Dans list of comedogenic ingredients. Some organic products actually contain irritating natural things like essential oils that aren't great for skin. Also, I remember reading awhile back that Burt's Bees was bought by a large co. and that many people who used to swear by their products thought they were changed up and not as good anymore. Hope that helps"

Silk naturals is really nice, but they're online. Their prices are affordable though, and the shipping is pretty fast.

Wow thank you so much! This defitnley helped. I have oily/ combo skin, so do you think these would suite me well being that they left you a little dry? I'm leaning more towards Alba Botanica. Are there any fragrances in it, and did it irritate your skin at all? My skin can get pretty sensitive also.

I had oily/combo skin at the time of using Alba Botanica (Accutane fixed that) and it still made me dry. As for the fragrances, I do not think there are any added fragrances, but I would check their website.

I also forgot to mention another organic skin care line I have tried (I experimented a lot...) It was Earth Science. I used their Clarifying facial wash and their toner. Both made me break out into small bumps and made my face super oily!

Unfortunatley, I haven't had any luck with organic/natural skin care lines yet, but hopefully you do! Out of all the products I have tried, I would reccomend Alba Botanica, it was my favorite and although it left me dry, it stilll left me clean and did not irritate my skin at all otherwise!

I love Chagrin Valley and Rainwater Botanicals. You do have to order these online, but their shipping is fast and their products aren't all that expensive.

In my signature, you will find the names of the products I use...I have found that the combination of Dan's products (kept to a minimum) work great with a regimen that is mostly all natural and organic. Best of luck to you!
