Acne When I Don't Shave!

Hi,

Lots of people seem to have problems with irritation causing acne from shaving, but I seem to have the opposite problem. The best way for me to clear up the spots is to shave regularly which works very well! However, I want to grow a beard (obviously it's not a life or death issue, i just really fancy a beard) but when i stop shaving, they come up all over the beardy area which always prevents me from continuing to grow it. I am an 18, and have had facial hair for around 2 years and been shaving regularly through that (apart from a month or two here or there to try and grow the beard)!

I wondered if anyone had any thoughts of how to help?

Thanks a lot!

ingrown hairs look like acne spots- maybe thats the case?

Thanks Lord V- he who shall not be named. Some of the small ones are ingrown hairs according to the girlfriend, but the large ones are definitely acne. Also forgot to mention I take lymecycline capsules for acne, as well as the prescribed face gel. Thanks!

Maybe it's because shaving exfoliates your face? Do you do anything to exfoliate it when you don't shave?
