Had cystic acne on the right side of my cheek for over 3 years now and I finally decided I had enough and went to a dermatologist. She recommended me to take Doxy and Epi.It's been 6 days since I've been on Doxycycline and Epiduo, and there has not been any major improvement. If anything, it has only gotten worse. White pus filled pimples have finally made itself known on my cheek by rearing it's ugly yellow/white heads since the 3rd day of doxy+epi treatment. Not entirely sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. However, my derm did say it would get worse before it gets better. I'm hoping she is right. Those pus filled pimples can get so itchy sometimes and I'm so tempted to either squeeze or scratch them, but I'm resisting to avoid further scarring. It's hard resisting though, there isn't just one or two of those pimples, but a total of 12 now (all ranging in sizes). Its so bloody hard covering it up with makeup too, but if I don't, I would end up looking like something out of a horror movie. Trying to stay positive, but it's hard considering I look like I've been smacked by a cheese grater.

It's been about a week since my last update. The pustules have gone away slightly however there have been two new cystic bumps that have appeared yesterday. I feel like my skin is purging all of the bad stuff from its inner depths, but I'm not sure. I have an appointment with my derm next week, hopefullythere will be some improvement by then. The epiduo has made my skin extremely dry even after putting on quite a lot of moisturizer. My acne marks are horrible. Just a ton of dark brown and red scarringonmy cheek together with the pus filled pimples. It's hard staying optimistic and stress free with my face looking the way it is, but amhoping that it'll get better in time.

If anyone knows any good moisturizers for dry and somewhat cracked skin, please please tell me

Cetaphil is a good non comedogenic moisturiser in my opinion. Blisteze and vaseline are good for lips. I have noticed lots of people recommend Cerave as a moisturiser too.
