Hello. I'm a male, aged 25.
Have mainly clogged pores on my cheeks.
Started to apply differin every night since 16 March.
Today is 7 May.
Still experiencing the horrible purging. I read someone else said the purge at its worst at 6~8 weeks. I do believe it now. : /
I hope everything will be alright by June! I can make it through!
I'm totally feeling bad at the moment to be honest. But I do know where am I going to, that's what keeps me wake up everyday and go to work with this pimplish face. It must work. Will keep using this purging stuff until month 3 at least. Update soon.

Today is 22 of May. Week 9 started.
I added in Azelaic Acid in the morning while around week 7. But only if I'm staying home that day, because it's too greasy.
Skin generally smooths out but with some small clogged pores and pimple forming and going.
Also, there is one major clog having a hard time pushing it's way out in my most concerned area.
That area was full of clogs and bumps, it's one major reason I started the treatment.
I sincerely hope this is the last one though.
PIH is everywhere of course.

I'm positive in this treatment at this point, hoping for the best reaching the 3 Month mark.

One more week to reach the 3 months mark. I am experiencing a minor purging this week. Which is weird, because my face was starting to get better after reaching the 2nd month. Maybe I have drank too much alcohol and coke in the past two weeks... Or the azelaic acid is kicking in deeper, anyways i would drop the azelaic acid from now.

Hope for the best. If my acne is not improving by the end of june, i guess i would give it all up and use only water for the rest of my life.

Hello!

Your experience with Differin is pretty similar to mine. I have been using it since February 3rd and I had horrible purging at week 7 and a more mild purge at week 10. I did clear up for the most part around week 13 though. However, I did start taking zinc supplements around that time too so I am not sure which thing helped the most.

Just hang in there, it may take more than 3 months to see full results. I hope you start seeing clear skin soon!

Thank you for your comment and support! Do you use any kind of cleanser or moisturiser?

Update: It's week 13.
At the moment I still got an active pustule which originally was a blackhead located on my cheek.

I tried hard not to squeeze any bump, but i couldn't resist. : / they then became inflamed, healed up and leave PIH.

Skin generally smoother, feels better, but not yet clear.

Hello, I'm sorry it took me so long to respond.

At night I use Vanicream lite lotion when my skin feels really dry and then just 2-3 drops of argan oil when my skin feels normal. During the day I use Olay Complete SPF 30 for sensitive skin. I usually just rinse my face with water in the morning and then at night I use CeraVe foaming cleanser. That is everything I put on my face. I tried to stay as basic as possible with my skincare routine because I have sensitive skin. So far this is what has been working for me. I hope you've been seeing results!

No sorry! Thanks for the reply!

At the moment I'm still having some minor acne and one cyst. I was tempted to quit everything and go cavemen again, because I just hate rely on something. : ( Not interned to influence you, but maybe using topical is really not for me, I once used adapalene actually, it was good. But I love being free.
