I would say to eat foods that are anti inflammatory & foods that will boost your immune system. A lot of it is still internal even after the acne is healed. If you eat real food that is good for you your body will heal the scars much quicker. Some good examples are vegetables that are dark green, quality meats that are grassfed, wild fish, herbs like turmeric & spices like cassia cinnamon. To me it's better to put that food in your body rather than use it externally.. but you could also use herbs externally as well.
And if your acne is pretty much gone and your face is smooth you could try to gently exfoliate. I just use brown sugar straight outta the bag and gently scrub my face in the shower. It helps to get the dead skin off.
