Hi Everyone

I have decided to start showering with only cold water from this point on for an undecided period of time. I usually shower twice a day and used to start with warm water and alternate between warm and cold throughout the shower. However I will be forgoing the warm water and using cold/unheated water all the way. I live in warm climate so the coldness of the water might differ from time to time.

I am doing this as I recall a period of time where I was pretty much clear of acne when I worked overseas and was living in an area without hot water showers. I did some research and found that cold showers do have some positive effect on acne for some people. Will update daily. Read on below for my acne condition. I will most likely not post pictures as I do not feel inclined to at the moment.

My acne history and current condition

I'm 23 years old, male, chinese.

I believe my acne is due to a combination of unfortunate genetics, Body's weakness towards acne prone foods like dairy stuff etc, and being easily stressed and unhappy. I have made adjustments in my life slowly to minimize the damage of all the above factors and am looking to do cold showers for the good of my mind and skin.

I've had acne on my face since my early teens and eventually started developing back and neck acne too. The severity of acne on all these areas have varied throughout the years and I've been at both ends of the spectrum. I've seen dermatologists and taken medications but the acne would come back after awhile. Have never been on accutane.

Currently my face is 99% clear of acne and the only real problem area now is my neck where I have several small to large bumps on the sides and one or two on the back of my neck.

I am using clean and clear's acne face wash, clean and clear toner which both work quite well and just started using calomine lotion last night. Was using this for quite awhile before and did not get much results.

DAY 1

I took 2 cold showers today in the noon and night. Feels good once you get past the mental barrier. It's probably the switch to calamine lotion but I've noticed that the more prominent acne on my neck are showing decrease in size.

Day 4

Had 3 cold showers today. No drastic improvements but skin generally feels cooler and better.

I switched back to the acne clear solution as the calamine lotion wasn't giving me much results. Right now my main problem area is still the spot on my neck.
