So I have been on the paleo diet for 6-7 months. It keeps me about 60-70% clear, so I am trying to figure out which other foods trigger my acne. The acne that bothers me the most are those huge pimples/inflammations/lump things I get on my body.
My typical daily diet consists of the following: Kale, swiss chard, italian parsley, grass fed beef (about 6 oz), ghee (about 3-4 tablespoons), one avocado, sardines, salmon (both wild-caught), sometimes olive oil but rarely, and beef tallow (animal fat). I also supplement with zinc at times (zinc chelate 30mg), the ingredients seem pretty safe, it is devoid of all things except gelatin, magnesium stearate, etc (Unless these things break me out).
So far I am not sure if the GHEE breaks me out. If it does, it happens at random times (I can consume tons of it and not break out, but then break out of no where, even when I do not change other variables).
I think I am HIGHLY sensitive to all grains. I ate about 100 grams of white potatoes today (After not consuming a single grain for months on end), and I woke up to a inflamed lump on my left shoulder.
I have tons of discoloration on my shoulder blades and back.
My biggest mistake in treating my acne was probably taking oral antibiotics for 4 months.
I will be logging in the foods I consume on a daily basis, and I will be uploading monthly photos for anyone who wishes to view this log.
I think I may know a diet that would keep me clear. The problem however is that if I follow such a diet, I will be starving 24/7, low energy, and i will look incredibly skinny (unhealthily). I wish I could find fat sources which I can consume with no problems... but I don't know... it seems as if any fat source I consume in excess gives me lump type acne. I think the only source that does not is beef tallow, but my god beef tallow tastes so gross (I am talking about the 100% grass fed and finished beef tallow, not that tasty)
I have decided I am going to give up ghee and any butter fats (even if it is pasture raised). I hope I do not go back to eating it (because it makes me feel so good).
I am also dropping all supplements, so that I can isolate all these damn variables. Going to stick to a basic veggie/meat diet with lots of animal fat
