Hi all, I'm new to this site and i've come across this site a few times and thought maybe you guys would know my problem today. I've been battling acne for a long time and I finally won...slightly but it has left my face forever damaged but I have learned to live with that. I have no more acne but I do get the occasional onesies and twosies every once in awhile, but thats not my problem. both my cheeks are super rad and I have no idea what it is or how to get rid of it I was hoping you guys could tell me thing or two about this? Anything helps Thanks a lot. I will attach a few pictures.
Your face is most likely red/irritated from all the different products used to clear your skin over time. All the acne products can be great for the acne itself but can definitely take their toll on a person's skin. Now that you have finally beat the acne you can focus on healing! I listed some tips below if you would like to try them.
Here are some tips to try:
- Raw Honey face mask 1-3 times a week. Raw honey has anti-inflammatory properties that make it great for reducing redness.
- Use aloe vera gel as a moisturizer at night. Similarly, aloe Vera is great for calming down redness and inflammation.
- Oats are also great for redness. Lush makes a nice face mask called Oatfix which I personally like, or I'm sure you can find DIY recipes online.
- Stop exfoliating until your skin calms down.
- Try not to take super hot showers, as the heat triggers redness in many people who are already suffering from it.
- Make sure you use a moisturizer with SPF during the day. If your skin is already red and you don't protect it from the sun, it could get worse!
- Make sure you aren't using anything that is irritating your skin. Try to wean yourself off any harsh products that you are using and switch to more gentle ones. If your skin is red & irritated, your main priority should be to let it heal before worrying about any other skin issues.
Good luck!!
