I've suffered from acne since I was about 14. I use to get large pimples with puss and now usually they're just the small ones that I can pop and be fine for the day unless it's hot and then more form quickly. But I have a big problem with my whole face minus my forehead being red always. It's been this way for years now. Also I have darker red spots where old acne was at (I'm assuming). I just started using a toner and lotion in the morning. I eat healthy and have since I was 18. What could it be and what can I do to get rid of it?

Hummm, since you don't have problems with your skin exfoliating itself ,could it be that the toner that you are using have too much alcohol .

I mean if you are not allergic to aspirin ,the bha toners are good for exfoliation ,I read that stridex had these wipes that are alcohol free , and some people use them as toners .

You have to pay attention to the things that you are using .

If your face reacts to salicylic acid, bha ,aspirin toners. Then maybe you need a glycolic acid toner.

Also if you just want to keep it simple you might try to add a benzoyl peroxide treatment like the one from the acne.org .

And use a cleanser like the clear pore cleanser/mask , from Neutrogena , it has benzoyl peroxide and glycerin and won't irritate the skin, at least I can use it , and so does my daughter.

Pay attention to the ingredients , sometimes some ingredients can cause irritation , as I said ,alcohol being one of them.

These are typical symptoms of skin redness. I presume you must have seen a skin specialist by now. Skin redness can affect anyone in their adolescent years. There are many reasons why skin redness happens. In your case only a specialist will be able to diagnose and suggest the right treatment such as topical creams.
