So I'm blessed with both endless acne and spider veins. I've been using a mandelic acid cleanser from muac, but i can't order from them anymore as they don't take paypal and apparently either steal credit card numbers themselves or have a pretty bad security system as I got fraudulent charges on a card I only used for their website.. So now I need to replace it with something. Salicylic acid has not been good for me, it seems to make my acne marks worse and especially my spider veins, omg, it makes them 10 times more red and prominent. I tried searching for mandelic acid but i can't find anything remotely affordable. any advice?
Hi! Have you tried enzyme-based cleansers instead? You should really stay away from the acids altogether, but enzyme is much less stimulating while as effective as AHA.
This is a marvelous one, for adult acne. White Cranberry Cleanser by MyChelle Dermaceuticals (to use with Oil Free Grapefruit Cream)
Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish is also good and has an AHA like effect, with just good old C (ascorbic acid.)
I noticed you posted in Rosacea, but wasn't sure if that was your official diagnosis. Clinique has a Redness Relief line that my aunt raves about, though it's a lot more than $10. With Rosacea, if you take care of the dilated blood vessels, the acne is relieved, as well.
I think my vein doc and my derm both agreed I have rosacea. I have both dilated capillaries and broken veins.
Thank you for recommendation! I will def look into it.
I'm scared of trying anything vit C though cause I used to use a serum in the past and it broke me out horribly.
