Go to a doctor, ASAP! Excessive sweating and flushing can be signs of more serious symptoms like hyperthyroidism or a tumor on the adrenal gland!

Are you taking any medication that could have side effects like this?

Still, it'd be a good idea to go to a doctor!

That's strange. Increased sweating and skin redness are very rare side effects according to the Wikipedia page, but I can't find anything about long-term or permanent redness and sweating.

Another possibility is that you have lupus, but you're not displaying the characteristic butterfly-like rash and you haven't mentioned anything about remission. I don't want to get you hypochondriac, but I'm just raising possibilities to talk to your doctor with.

You might look at the wiki page for "Allergen of the Year" and see if you are using products with any of these. The 2004 Allergen of the Year is often used in shampoo and a very common allergen and can provoke symptoms like you are experiencing.

Shampoo? I do see that the shampoo im using has it but i highly doubt that its from that? I mean it happens when im doign things in a rush and get very sweaty, or drink caffeine, or eat spicy food. I do not know it is or not, but im leaning towards it not being the shampoo..?

It's also possible you have rosacea. Coffee and eating spicy foods are common triggers for flares.

Well, you have to get it confirmed, first.

On the topic of erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (involving the capillaries), there's not much you can do OTC. You need stuff like IPL to do that.

Edit: Try to discontinue coffee if you can.

Hey, I have pretty much the exact same thing. I have similar triggers to you (spicy food, anxiety) and sometimes it just happens for no reason at all.

It's reaaaalllyyyy frustrating but it can get better. I highly suggest you visit the Rosacea Forum page, you can read about treatments that have worked for people with the same symptoms as you.

Here's a link to start off with that I found very helpful, you can even print it off and bring it to your next doctors appointment:

[Removed]

I think the first thing you should focus on is getting your anxiety under control, because the redness/flushing/blotchiness as well as the sweating is most likely triggered by your anxiety. I always keep a bottle of cold water around and I find that sipping on it keeps my body cool and helps keep me calm.

It's a vicious cycle: The more you feel anxious about it, the more it happens. The more it happens, the more you feel anxious. It may feel like you're the only one with this problem but trust me, its more common than you think!

Hmmm.. did you have these side effects before or during Accutane treatment

I know I read that some people react to Accutane and they develop something called steroid induced rosacea

It can take years to go away (if ever) but I know there are things you can use to get it under control.

Perhaps search into that

Good luck!
