My skin has been red and dry and irritated the past few months. Im thinking of just washing with water, and moisturizing with jojoba oil. Is this how the oil cleansing method is done?

I was just talking about this with someone the other day!

As far as I know the oil cleansing method involves actually cleansing with the oils. You actually apply the oils to the skin, like you would a cleanser, and then remove / rinse or wipe gently with a warm cloth. You can find some info about it here http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/ but there seems to be a lot of different oils (some not mentioned here) that you can use. You can probably find more info on these boards too so have a look around / check out google. I'd be interested to hear what other people think of it though and what oils they use. I was thinking of trying it but I'm not sure.

From what I've heard, some people really love this for their skin and I've heard of people claiming this is what cleared their skin. I've also heard though that it breaks people out - one thing I read was that it worked well for her in the cooler months but she started to break out again in the hotter weather.

Like any product / method it depends on the individual I guess.

That seems like a lot of work. More oils I have to buy now..

Yeah that's one of the reasons I'm not rushing to do this. That and I don't understand the benefit fully.

I'm sure there's a simpler way for it - hopefully someone who uses this method or has used it will reply with better advice.

I'm honestly just thinking about doing water to cleanse and jojoba oil or evening primrose oil to moisturize, since my skin has been dry lately.

That's probably a good way to go about it - especially if you already have those oils.

Whatever you end up doing, good luck with it!
