I know that I should wash my face twice a day. Once in the morning, after getting out of bed and before putting my make up on - this one is obvious. But when I get back home from school about 5-6 pm, should I wash my face then or should I wait until evening when I usually go to bed (about 9-10 pm)? I don't feel like wearing make up at home is a good idea. But on the other hand, if I wash my face right after I get home, it will get oily before I go to sleep. Haha I know it doesn't sound like a serious problem, it's just that having a skin care routine is kind of a new thing for me (until this year I was one of these lucky people who have flawless skin without doing anything apart from taking a daily shower. well, good days are over).

I don't know if you will see this post seeming as it was posted in may, but my routine consists of this:

AM (8.00AM)

Morning Energy 'Clean&Clear'

Tea Tree Oil & Witch Hazel facial wash 'Boots'

PM(4:30PM)

Water

Hydrating Light Moisturiser

Vitamin C Face Spritz

PM(9:45pm) I like to sleep X

Garnier Micellar Water

Exfoliating Daily Wash 'Clean&Clear'

Deep Cleansing Lotion 'Clean&Clear'

Black Head Clearing Cleansing Lotion 'Clean&Clear'

Soothing Facial Toner 'Simple'

Dual Action Moisturiser for blemishes 'Clean&Clear&

So to answer your question, yes I recommend taking your makeup off to prevent your skin becoming too oily.

Dan is pretty clear about this one. He says not to wash your face more than twice a day because it will cause irritation. Even if you exercise, he just suggests that you pat your face dry and keep going with your day.

I'm not on the regimen. I'm actually on Accutane right now, but anyway, here is what I do! I put my makeup on right before I leave the house. When I get home, I leave it on until I know I'm going to be home for the rest of the night, but not so early that it makes the time between my morning and evening cleanse less than ten hours. So, if I did my morning routing at 7:00AM, I can do my evening routing at 5:00PM if I want. Ultimately, if your makeup is non-comedogenic (which it should be) you shouldn't have any worries about leaving it on your face a few more hours. If your makeup is comedogenic, start looking for better products. I'm always on the lookout for products with better ingredients. :)
