Hi everyone

I am on my third month (almost fourth) of Roaccutane and my skin is dry. I have dry patches on my nose, cheeks and jaws (I also have dry patches all over my arms). I was on 20mg for the first two months but now for the last 3 I am on 40mg. The first two months were okay using my Clinique anti blemish solutions as the dryness was nothing major, but now it's getting flaky :( I bought the laura mercier silk creme foundation today which is working really well and doesn't cling to the dry patches, however it is quite sheer when applied with a sponge which is what is recommended, and the makeup artist recommended I used a heavy duty oil free concealer. I don't want a matte one, i think a glowing one would look great especially with this foundation. I tried revlon photo ready concealer but it's just so dry :(

Sorry for the long post, to sum up, if anyone knows of an non matte oil free concealer that will cover blemishes but will not cling to dry patches please let me know!

N.B ^^^definitely not fussy at all...

I'm currently in my second month of roaccutane. I couldn't live without concealer, however I never use liquid because in my opinion it's just foundation labelled as concealer. I am a big fan of Studio Finish concealer by MAC and Secret Camouflage concealer by Laura Mercier. Both have to be applied with a brush so maybe buy a cheap one to try the concealers with before you invest in a good one! The Laura Mercier concealer is obviously slightly more pricey but to be honest, I think MAC is just as good, if not better.

No one believes I even have acne when I go out and I think it's down to these concealers eusa_dance.gif

But then again I'm not in the REALLY dry stages of the tane yet.. so I hope these carry on working for me because they work wonders now. When I do have dry patches I tend to just apply as normal and then apply liquid foundation over.

I finished my Accutane and during the time I was on it I did have dry patches. I purchased the hydrating mist from Sephora or Amazon and I would spray my face throughout the day. It did not mess up my makeup and I sprayed a lot on before bed. It helped very much and soothed my skin. Accutane was the best thing I have ever done. I love my skin.

use a silicone based primer like W7 primer (from amazon) or smashbox primer on top of heavily moisturised skin.

Then good foundations for dry flakey skin are Rimmel match perfection, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, bourjuois healthy mix.

After foundation spray with a hydrating spray (glycerin + rose water) and then powder with silica powder (elf or MakeupForever HD powder).

Neutrogena Healthy Skin helped me, followed after Cerave MOisturizer.

Right, on my second round, I just use Dior Nude.

If you're still prone to breakouts I would suggest staying away from Neutrogena healthy skin as it contains ethylhexyl palmitate as one of the main ingredients...
