Hello, I've been using the regimen over the summer and my acne is so much better, but now school is starting and even though my skin is looking better id feel more comfortable if i had some makeup on, at least like a mineral powder foundation.. The thing is, if i use makeup i would have to minimize the amount of bp because my skin would be way too flaky to have any makeup on it, but then it would take more time for my skin to heal..

My question is, is there something i could do for my foundation to still look nice AND continue using bp every night (and morning on the weekends)? Thanks a lot. :)

Hey! Makeup on the Regimen is pretty tricky. I wear foundation every weekend and my skin seems to be consistently flaky no matter what I use. The only time it's not is if a magical makeup artist does my face for something, but I always forget to ask what she does to hide the flakiness.

I know some people have success putting jojoba oil in their liquid foundation. You could also try using a tinted moisturizer; it really depends on your skin. I would suggest going to a makeup store like Sephora and asking someone for advice. A lot of people on here also like Kat Von D Tattoo Foundation because it provides excellent coverage. I've been using Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation and it's been working pretty well, since it has maracuja oil in it. My flakes are still pretty apparent, though. Some powders might work, but they can often make dry skin stand out after a few hours.

How far are you into the Regimen? After 3-4 weeks you can use AHA, which gets rid of excessive flakiness/dryness. That's what I'm doing soon!

Good luck! :)

I find find dabbing/patting the makeup on with your fingers (or ideally a sponge) helps because youre not rubbing and disturbing the flaky skin - think of the flakes like scales, you want them to lay flat and you dont want to get makeup underneath them because that will pronounce them.

Try to stay away from matte finish makeup too because that dries up on your skin and makes the flakes look a lot worse than they need to. So really you want to skip out on the powder if you can (its trial and error, some powders will be fine)

Also just be generous with your moisturizer (and make sure its moisturizing enough), you might look a bit dewy/shiny but its a trade off. If you do just blot with a tissue afterwards :)

Try mixing a little bit of a good moisturizer with your foundation.

When my skin got really dry/flaky I would moisturise my face once all over, wait for that to sink in, then dab extra moisturiser on my dry spots a couple of times and it helped quite a bit.

I think you might be able to find something like it in a drug store. Just be careful that it doesn't have any other active ingredients that might interfere with the Regimen. Also I forgot some people exfoliate with jojoba oil to get rid of flakiness.
