Ladies: What Do You Use To Remove Upper Lip Hair?

So I'm not an incredibly hairy person or anything, but for some reason, the hair on my upper lip grows back fast. I've tried threading and waxing in the past, but often times within a few days I have stubble growing back and it looks bad. So I decided to ditch waxing, and instead use cheaper methods at home. I used depilatory creams for quite some time, and have even tried shaving. I know that sounds weird, but when my hair grows back fast what's the purpose in going out and spending money on waxing?

Problem is I break out in tiny whiteheads frequently, right around my upper lip...and I can't help but think it's connected to my razor. I don't know if I should just go back to depilatory creams, or maybe try something else? I'm tired of dealing with annoying upper lip hair and whiteheads.

Have you always had this upper lip hair or is it something relatively new? You are more than likely getting the whiteheads from shaving that area, when you shave it opens the area to bacteria. Also the shaver itself can have bacteria on it. I don't remove facial hair but some ideas would be using a facial hair bleacher (depending on how much there is), using an epilator to pull out hairs from the root (do this at night so your skin has time to calm down) If you have insurance a dermatologist could prescribe hair removal cream that would be better than anything you can buy OTC.

Shaving does seem like the most likely culprit. I've always had fast-growing upper lip hair, but in the past I usually used depilatory creams. I recently started shaving it this past year because it was quicker than depilatory cream and seemed easier. I haven't really had a problem with whiteheads before, it started this summer. I have switched razors, so maybe that's it? But I'm going to stop shaving it and try depilatory creams again. If the depilatory cream isn't working I'll try an epilator.

I'm not a lady, but have you ever considered threading? My mum gets her upper-lip threaded and that tends to keep any hairs at bay for a while.

You could always get them lasered which is a semi-permanent approach. There's also hair removal creams that are sensitive enough for using on the face.

Sorry if I wasn't of help, I tried! :P

Waxing is the best thing. It takes a long time to grow back and the pain isn't bad. If cost is the problem, have you tried looking into at home kits? I remember it took me about 10-15 minutes the first time to get the hang of it. Now I can do it when I have 5 mins.

I do this because creams just irritate my skin more and shaving is weird. Hahaha. So maybe you can get an at home wax, or try and bleach is like melmel mentioned above.

I have done home waxing before, but I broke out into little whiteheads with that too...so I never tried it again.

I bought an Olay depilatory cream today and it actually worked really well, so now I just need to see if my breakouts around my upper lip will stop.

How did the Olay go? Waxing breaks me out big time. I was afraid Olay would do the same but to my surprise, it worked great and I wasn't even red afterwards.
