Has anyone ever had contact dermatitis (sp) arounf their eyes from eye makeup? I have these little red bumps all around by eyes and they are kinda sore ugh SOOOOOOOOOOOOO friggen annoying, just another fricken thing to deal with
. I'm wondering where I got it from, so I bought all new eye makeup and eye cream....
They came BEFORE the new makeup? Hmm. Well that is weird. Did you do use any different products before they happened?
If you don't want to go right to the doctor, stop at a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist on duty what it looks like to them. They can sometimes tell if it is an allergic reaction type thing, or if it is something that really needs a doc. Saves a few dollars.
But yes, I think contact dermatitis is something you can get anywhere at all. Can you remember if you got anything on your hands and rubbed your eyes? Like petting a dog/cat that rolled in weeds can do it. Use the pump at the gas station and rubbed your eyes? Just thinking out loud....
I got something like that a few months ago.... After awhile I finally figured out it was my foundation. I just randomly developed an allergy to something in it. It wasn't because the makeup was old (I tried a new bottle), it was just some ingredient I guess. I was using Almay by the way.
God yes. I'm *just* getting over it now..and it was on practically my whole left cheek, part of my lower right cheek and my chin and mouth area.
This is the 2nd time I've had to deal with it because about a year ago I got it and it was baaad. I had a red scaly pimply rash over my entire face. It was so much worse than acne..
But the good thing is some prescription hydrocortisone clears it up in a week. And usually for me, for some reason, I end up with better looking skin afterwards then even before having contact dermatitis. I guess the hydrocortisone works on other skin problems too?
And both times, it was a combination of chemical allergies and irritation by scrubbing/over-exfoliating. Sigh, I'm just glad this bout of it is almost over

The mascara I'm using is Almay!! I thought it might be old so I went and bought a new one... should I buy a different brand?

I think I have the same thing you're describing from the same thing. I over exfoliated and then used salicylic acid on top of it. How did you use the hydrocortisone? What kind did the doctor prescribe
