I had perfect skin all growing up, but after a stressful period in my early 20s, these bumps appeared on my forehead.
The skin over them gets shiney and thinner and times and I can express them. If I puncture them with a needle, they express like a whitehead.
I tried a topical treatment from a dermatologist once, but it simply removed layers of skin and made it easier to express them, but never dealt with the root cause.
I had a consult recently with a dermatologist and he just wanted to put me on acutane for two years.
I came across a video that made it seem like it might be fungal acne, but after two months of the suggested regimen, there was no improvement.
The regimen included CeraVE SA cleanser, Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo and niacinamide.
I've changed my diet at times, going without sugar or carbs for 4 months last year (carnivore) and there was no change from that.
Thanks for any guidance on what else I might try that has worked for you.
Posts like this are fascinating. There are so many things out there. I hope someone sees this who had the same thing and fixed it up.
If you can "pop" them, then it makes me think maybe they are are non-inflamed acne, but I don't know.
Have you tried the regimen on it? Adding in AHA after a month. It might be worth a shot before going on accutane, which is so hardcore and so last resort.
