I am only here to offer my experiences and hope to help. I am a 49 yr old female and my cystic acne started near 15 years ago. Of course, I dealt with it for years before getting help, but once I did it started with the normal prescribed usuals that did nothing but irritate my skin more. I then happened upon a doctor that wanted to shoot steroids in my face in each spot where they were reoccurring. While that worked and killed those spots, needless to say, more kept coming. I could not afford to keep doing this. I then came across an article about 8 years ago talking about fish oil and acne, mainly cystic acne. I immediately started taking the pills because, I mean, why not, they are beneficial anyway, right? I saw a noticeable change in my acne. Though I'd get a bump, they'd ease up and go away and not be the 5-6 month battle a normal one would be. Not a won war, but a smaller battle at least. I was at least content.

It was many years later that I discovered my huge allergy issues in life. I am allergic to everything. All trees, grasses, animals blah blah blah....I don't know what prompted me to ask because I never thought it a problem, but I asked to be food tested. Good thing I did because it turns out I am allergic to beef, pork, milk, milk protein, yeast, gluten, wheat, and the list went on and on and on. Will I die from these?? lol Absolutely not. Am I miserable from these, indeed! The allergist said my acne is absolutely a direct result from these food allergies. My insides are a mess from them and my skin is affected by all of this. So now knowing this and avoiding most of these as a regular and still taking the fish oil.....I haven't seen a cyst in a long time now. Because I can't possibly avoid all I am allergic to, I do deal now with the little pus pustules with a break out once in awhile (currently ugh) I am guessing that is from sugar, yeast or digestion issues from what I am reading on this sight. Which has been very informative. I, in turn, thought I would share my insight.
Only 'food' (ha ha) for thought........
