I haven't written in a chat forum since middle school, so bear with me...
In July of 2016, I switched from my birth control patch to Mirena, the IUD. I had ZERO problems with the patch, it was just kind of unsightly and annoying. Almost immediately after insertion of the IUD I started noticing my forehead breaking out. I was also in the middle of moving to a new state and starting a graduate program, so I attributed it to that stress. It's now been 4 months and I'm all settled in, but the breakouts haven't stopped. I've never had skin troubles, so this has been a huge blow to my confidence, as my forehead constantly looks like a pizza.
I've started a new skin care regimen, which has helped a bit, but nothing consistent. I've cut out caffeine (saying goodbye to my coffee addiction) and cut down on sugars. I eat my fruits and veggies, and I drink more than enough water each day.
I guess my question is whether this has happened to anyone else--almost perfect skin suddenly becoming a battleground--and if so, did you notice any improvements after making certain changes? Did it get better over time?
Thank you in advance!

Mirena is a terrible choice for acne prone skin. It contains androgenic Progestin which makes some sensitive people break out. I can't count the number of posts I've read about Mirena causing acne in people who never even had it before. Good job on cutting out caffeine and decreasing sugar.
I'm so sorry you had great skin and it's messed up now. I highly recommend removing the Mirena before the hormone imbalance/acne gets worse...I wouldn't risk waiting it out. In many of the anti-Mirena posts I have read, the acne only ever got better when the women removed the device.
