Hey guys!

I had a few questions for anyone possibly experiencing the same thing as me

I've been vaping for about a year now

I've always had acne/pimples since my teens but for the past month have noticed that I'm getting large red cysts and beneath the skin tiny little pimples that never come to a head

I've tried all the over the counter stuff

It actually got worse when I started using tea tree products by the Body Shop

I found a lot of success with 100% tea tree oil and unfortunately maybe my skin got used to it and it stopped working

So I discontinued the tea tree and just started using Clean and Clear pimple lotion which isn't working either

I am so frustrated and embarrassed...I'm 42 and my face is horrible...I work as a receptionist and my face is the first people see and I can't even stand to look at my own face

I went to my dermatologist who said it was adult acne and possibly hormones...which I can understand due to my age

He put me on 100mg of Spironolactone (which has worked in the past but it makes me pee all the time)

He also gave me a topical called Tazorac which is very harsh and drying

He also prescribed me Solodyn which is a fast acting antibiotic to help clear my face faster...He also gave me a few cortisone shots in the cyst like pimples to help decrease their size

This was almost two weeks ago and I still don't see a good result

My husband then did some research and found that some people who vape or smoke the e-cigarettes are noticing it is causing a lot of breakouts.

Does anyone else here have any experience with e-cigs possibly causing acne?

HELP!!!

I'm 43 and stopped vaping about a year ago because of exactly this same problem. (Huge cysts on my face, which seemed tobe layered pimples on top of each other) Although now I have acne scars where these cysts used to be, the cysts themselves have stopped, and only a few lingering small lumps remain. I'm starting to find more and more reports (such as this one), where people are complaining about the same thing. Sounds like a PG allergy, although I'm not taking ANY chances with anything "E" related. Also, this may be coincidence, but I also noticed that my hair was thinning significantly. Seems slightly better now, but also only gave up smoking analogs a week ago...

Yes. I am having the same exact issue. I'm honestly not sure what to do at this point, as vaping has been the only thing to help me actually stop smoking.

Im 40 and would get occasional breakouts, but since vaping 4 month ago, I'm getting cystic acne on my chin, under my beard.

Im planning on stopping vaping for a week and seeing what happens.

Its been a long time since you've posted. Any updates?

Hi I™ve just joined up up to reply to this thread, I had the exact same problem , two years ago I gave up smoking cigarettes & started vaping within 3 weeks of vaping I started getting this blotchy red itchy rash across my neck that was full of tiny pimples I ignored it & assumed it was Because I had gave up smoking & it was my body getting rid of everything but the spots didn™t go away I then started getting huge spots across my jaw and neck that where so painful & they was full up with gross puss, I went to the doctors numerous times who all said it was my hormones or a skin infection so gave me multiple different antibiotics nothing helped I eventually gave up drinking any caffeine I stopped drinking milk & would drink water only still my skin persisted again I went back to my GP 6 weeks ago and told her I was now depressed and I actually stopped going out stopped socialising I was even calling sick into work  because my skin was just so embarrassing again my GP told me it was a skin infection and told me to go on antibiotics for 6 months, I started taking them for a few weeks & my skin got worse I think this was because I was so stressed out with my skin I was actually vaping more, it was only when I stumbled across this post & I put two and two together and realised it was the vape I gave up vaping 3 weeks ago and I can honestly say my skin is nearly back to being perfect I have had no breakouts at all there are no cysts on my neck I have a few tiny dry bits from the old spots but I can honestly say it was 100 % vaping that caused my skin I™m so glad I have finally stopped below I™ve added some pictures of my skin just over 6 weeks ago and now again last week DC22B768-14FA-4517-A348-ADC5E681CB74.thumb.png.f1c9040d0581e2a1119e2e43cd984b76.png

I had SOME zit issues as a females do before I started vaping but not as bad as they are now. I'm getting painful, massive bouts of cystic acne which I never got before. I'm literally 100 percent sure it is due to vaping. I assumed this from 2 years ago and from EVERY single time when I've started and stopped vaping numerous times I have seen the difference in my skin. Vaping has made my skin so bad I literally can't control it with over the counter treatment and had to get pharmaceutical treatment from my doctor instead. Honestly, I've decided to put down vaping for the last time and I will definitely not be going back to cigarettes as I have strong willpower. The type of acne vaping has caused me has literally stopped me from wanting to go anywhere. At 24 years old I should not have this type of acne and it's only ever happens whenever I picked up the vape again. Believe me it's so bad and this is DEFINITELY a side effect of vaping. Even my boyfriend who is approaching 30 and always had great skin has been getting cystic spots since he started vaping whether it is high or low pg or VG or whatever it is. It is bad for the skin in general even if you are meticulous with your facial cleansing routine you will probably find you will gradually get worse skin while vaping. It's such a shame because it's a great alternative to smoking. Give it some more time and I'm sure people will come to find there ARE more health risks associated with vaping and you'll be happy you stopped.
