Hey everyone! Hope you are well. Please bare with me as this post is going to be long. I will include my background story as well as mantain my isotretinoin log.

I am a 25 year old guy with greasy skin prone to nodulocystic acne. My acne started when I was in grade 10th and followed me all the way through college to this day. I have tried every other treatment out there; benzoyl peroxide, erythromycin, minocycline, clindamycin and many many more. My acne started on my nose area and gradually spread across to my cheeks and on my temples. The starting acne was usual pubertial one, and used to subside by prescription via derm who had me take minocycline orally and erythromycin topically. Later on, when things started to get worse my derm had me using benzoyl peroxide long term.
Fast forward to 2011: This is when things started to go down real bad. I had nodular acne attacks almost daily on my face, my back, my neck and my shoulders. It was literally the worst time of my life. I started to get anxiety because of this, my studies were affected. Nothing made sense. I Visited my derm and he had me take blood tests as well as liver function tests and everything came out normal. He then insisted that I take minocycline again for a bit longer period of time. I took Minocycline for almost 6 months and gradually my skin got a bit clearer but not much. So, I started to look for alternative solutions. My friend who had acne in our school times said he used dilluted Apple cider vinegar to get rid of his acne and scars. I used it for almost 2 years straight and to be honest it helped alot, but after like using everything the acne came back and came back harder than before.

Finally after countless topical and oral treatments, my derm said it was time to bring in the big guns AKA Isotretinoin. So, I started my Isotretinoin treatment a month back. I have been a bit late though but will update my weekly progress as it happened and what I am using right now to maximize the results.

updates coming soon.

I've only returned to the community because i started accutane as a last resort for extremely oily skin and mild acne.

Hope everything goes well :)

Week No. 2:
-Following my first weekly visit, the derm said to continue the dosage with the instruction to discontinue Minocycline after 3 more days.

-Existing acne lesions started to turn purplish and dry. Got a few mid sized cysts on left temple and neck.

-On day 10th, felt a certain pressure induced headache with throbbing effect. Took minocyline at daytime and Isotretinoin at night as per derm's instructions. Last day of minocycline.

At the end of week 2, felt throat and nose dry up, lips started to get cracked as well. Acne flare up diminished.
