So I'm nearing the end of my first month on accutane (dosage 30mg; start date 06/27/17). My symptoms are manageable. Dryness (eyes, skin, inside of my nose, hair/scalp), slightly ache-y (mild back aches in the morning, some headaches; dependent on my water intake), random heartburn. The perks of it all is for the first time in a long time I can go a while without washing my hair (longest gone is 6 days, probably could go longer). My only downside so far is how much hair I'm loosing ˜¹ï¸. I probably should be more diligent brushing my hair I'll just have to monitor it as I go on. Month 2 blood work is done and my Dr.s appointment is tomorrow!! I'll add my progress pictures since I started. I try and take similar pictures every week.

In terms of hair loss, I had a thought: Some hair loss is normal in day to day life. To avoid my hair clogging the drain in the shower I try to collect it as I go along. Usually, after washing my hair (which I normally do every other day), I always have a small clump of hair by the end, even though I always brush my hair before showering. However, if I go a longer amount of time between washing my hair I always end up with a larger clump of hair, sometimes it can seem like quite a bit! But my hair actually looks fine. Perhaps because you're washing your hair less often, it seems like you're losing more when you do wash it? Thoughts?

Yes that is probably right. It's a temporary side effect in any event so it should thicken up once you stop the medication.
