I think I was still somewhat breaking out past the middle of my course. I have a friend on accutane right now who is experiencing the same thing, and I've read about many people on here with similar experiences so I would say it's pretty common! Did you try anything new on your face that could have contributed to the new breakout? Even while on accutane new products can sometimes cause breakouts.

I've been searching loads to find stories like mine but people are only getting one or two little pimples so far to what I've read, I have 8 large painful spots, there not cytics...

I see my derm on the 19th so I'll see if maybe he can up my dosage, I'm just worried as I was from the start about messing around with the dosage and experiencing more outbreaks but to hell with it I'm getting them anyway!

I haven't changed anything apart from missing a week of contraceptive pill but the spots are not in the typical areas for it to be that.

My facial cleaning routine hasn't changed either. I'll keep searching for someone with a similar story and and for hope

When I missed a week of birth control pills once my skin went crazy! It could very well be that. Even if it's not, though, I still wouldn't worry too much. I've read about some people not clearing until the last month or so. I think I still had some big pimples at the point you're at. I know my friend definitely does too. He's still getting cysts.

I think Im on day 73 or 74. I am still breaking out as well. Forehead and jaw

During my first round of Accutane I didn't clear up until 3-4 months in. Then I had clear skin for 1-2 months, but after that I would randomly get huge cystic breakouts. At this point I was on 60mg and on my 7th month. BUT, about a week after I finished Accutane, the breakouts stopped entirely.

I know it's hard, but try to trust in the fact that this medication will work its wonders whether its now, in a month, or after you've finished.

Everyone reacts differently.With that said, I'm in my sixth month and broke out steadily until probably the middle of month 5. I've had two minor breakouts this month (sixth). My IB never stopped until I had my dosage increased from 40 to 80. unfortunately my labs weren't good after a month of 80 so I had to go back down to 40.

Thank you all for writing, I had such a bad day yesterday, I had a day of crying which isn't like me, since starting accutane I haven't really let myself get upset but I just have had enough now seriously these spots hurt so bad I just want to take a knife to them obv I'm not going to do that. I've just had the wrong attitude of "every thing will be better next week" because sometimes it's not it'll get better when it's ready.
