Since high school, I was never really the guy with too much acne on the face. It happened here and there, but never enough to cause concern. It was always on my back and shoulders and chest. Fast forward many years and now I'm 30 years old. The Backne never went away. My chest and shoulders enjoy playing tag. One month it'll be my chest, next month those will clear up and it'll be my shoulders. The back however looks like a minefield (after the battle). There are literally thousands of scars and probably a dozen active zits at any time. These are not cute little red marks. These are serious zits. The kinds that you can hear them pop when you pop them. The kinds that spout white at first then gush blood like tiny tiny soldiers stabbing me. And of course, the zits are always in spots that are JUST out of my reach.

All of these issues were there, but tolerable because they didn't effect my dad to day. I mean lets face it, to those of us who are cursed with acne on the face and forehead, you live with this problem daily and I salute your bravery. At least girls have makeup...but guys? There's nothing you can do to cover it up. I was fortunate in that my acne was only on parts of my body visible when my shirt is off. And since I'm chubby and my shirt never comes off, it never really bothered me. Until...it started on my head. Yup. As if it couldn't get any worse, my entire scalp started to look like my back. Started about a year ago. I'm a guy who has a full head of hear, yet enjoys the shaved head look, because it matches me and I'm too lazy to style my hair after showers. So growing out my hair to cover it up is not an option. My head looks disgusting.... Finally decided on accutane.

I started yesterday. My variation is 40mg Zenatane. I pill taken each day. I weight 200 lbs. The dosage seems to be on the higher end of the spectrum based on my calculations (for a 90kg patient). So I'm hoping it will do its job. So far can't see any difference, but I realize it's early and after reading everyone else's posts I'm very optimistic and excited. Will post updates as things progress.
