Hello! New person to the community. Let me give you some background, I've always had oily, acne-prone skin. Recently my skin has undergone changes and cystic (or inflammatory) acne has showed up out of nowhere. My derm has recommended 'tane and I resisted, because of side-effects, but I want to start college with clearer skin. I have fairly tan, olive skin and my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is terrible.
As of right now I only have one or two active lesions around my temple area and everything else is healing or PIH. Wish me luck!
Update! Day 13 of accutane. No excessive dryness. Arms and legs are a little dry (because I take showers that are wayyyy too hot and too long). This is remedied by lots of moisturizer, though. Lips are dry, not cracking or peeling yet, but aquaphor is doing the trick!
Initial breakout? A little bit, hoping this is the worst. Two bumps near nose area. One on hairline. A couple small whiteheads near lipline. That's about it. Nothing too annoying aside from the two near my nose. Everything else is manageable.
Skincare so far:
-clarisonic (acne brush head) 2X daily
-Boscia complexion clearing cleanser
-Boscia complexion clearing tonic (here and there, does nothing just feels nice)
-Korres Yogurt moisturizer
-lubriderm for body (extra dry skin formula)
Voila!
Considering tossing a night-time moisturizer into the mix?
