Hello all!! I have been a frequent visitor of this site for over a year now, searching for a cure. Most of my life my face was very clear. Odd pimple here and there but nothing major. Then about a year and half ago I began to get acne. It was absolutely horrible at a few points. The pimples would come in groups and take a few weeks to go away. I tried everything. The product I most recently tried contained sacylic acid. It worked for a bit , my skin was clearing but only if I used it twice a day. I skipped a day once and had a major breakout. I had almost given up and accepted my new acne life until I came across a cheap option. Water. Several people swear by it and at that point I thought , " what do I have to loose?" So I began. At first I broke out , as to be expected. Then in just a few days I noticed how quickly my pimples were clearing. A few more days later I noticed a more even complexion. At that point I was determined to stick with it. I was still wearing makeup and decided to ignore my instinctive need to take it off with harsh chemicals. I pushed through and in 3 weeks I was almost clear! I am going to post a few pictures ( beginning of experiment to yesterday ) but they don't capture the worst times, as I was ashamed. Hope this helps some ! Cheers
By water only, do you mean washing without a cleanser & having basically no skin care routine?
I've tried this recently, started breaking out a bit more. Cleansers make my face feel tight and turn it red, & what I've noticed is that using water only pretty much removes the irritation and some of the redness, but doesn't completely clean the oils off your face making it harder for your acne products to work.

That's a good point, I thought she meant drinking water, as there have been a lot of people recommending that recently. I've tried drinking the whole 8 glasses/64 oz of water a day thing, but I'm always bad at following it through.
I've also tried using just water as a way to cleanse, but as tretinoin stated above, it may make you feel a bit better but it's actual effectiveness is slightly lacking.
